Interior Photos see also: Exterior Shots An artisan is a skilled craftsman and true to it's name, our company is proud to produce authentic hand-crafted log homes and buildings. In keeping with our Canadian heritage, we have combined the building techniques of our forefathers with the modern technologies of today. Each structure built by Artisan is a lasting monument of strength and durability, and the warmth and rustic charm of logs combine comfortably with all the conveniences of modern living.
Almost all of our log shells are pre-built at our industrial site and then coded, disassembled and shipped out. Included in our Log Work Package is the labour to re-erect the building anywhere in British Columbia. We regularly travel to the U.S and over-seas as well, and these costs are negotiated on an individual basis. Construction of
the log shell generally takes 8-10 weeks, and re-erection is usually
accomplished in 3-5 days.
Artisan can provide
crews to move on-site depending on the permanent location of the building.
We will provide firm contract prices for "lock-up" - roof framing, windows
and exterior doors. We are also generally available for some aspects
of "inside finish", or can provide full service as Project Managers,
and over-see the construction of your log home from foundation to finish.

you need and want!
Our building logs are carefully selected from the
wealth of timber which form part of British Columbia's vast natural
resources. This slow-growth Canadian wood is ideal for log construction.
Artisan's species of choice is Englemann spruce, although other types
of wood are available on request. We use large logs to ensure good insulating
quality and superior strength.
This photo shows how bright and open a kitchen can be. Typically, we choose to flat frame over the logs in this area, providing a flat uniform wall surface, for ease of mounting upper cabinets and creating a smooth, clean finish. Interior framed
walls are easily incorporated into log walls and provide concealed access
for plumbing, heating and wiring.
This private residence was built on ocean front acreage of the Gulf Islands, with views to 180 degrees, so design was critical in capturing the amazing vistas from almost every room. Artisan provided full design and drafting services and acted as Project Manager, over-seeing the construction from foundation to finish (see pictures 1 through 10).
