 DID YOU KNOW THAT....
- We have access
to some of the finest standing timber in North America. British Columbia
is known throughout the world for its' wealth of natural resources,
and we are able to meet our highly specialized standards in locating
and purchasing the house logs that we build with.
- Shipping from
British Columbia to the U.S. is easy and inexpensive. We can handle
all of the required paper work and documentation. We will also arrange
shipping and the crane required for re-erection. Duty is minimal,
about 3.5%. Our log yard is only 1/2 hour north of the border at Sumas,
Washington.
- Artisan recommends
having 2 of our log builders arrive with the shell,supervise re-erection
and over-see the beginning of lock-up. This will ensure that this
critical process is completed with accuracy and efficiency.
- Log buildings
are amazingly cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Artisan built
a log home for the Sanford family, near Santa Fe, Texas. The summer
heat of '98 reached record highs, but the Sanfords were delighted
that their new home remained cool and comfortable. As well, it's
mass and weight combined with the interlocking structure of the
log work, make it highly resistant to the devastating tornados that
frequent this area.
